stagehand/Emcee

overview

  • Interact directly with performers
  • Help performers set up on stage
  • Run the open mic portion of the Perform for Freedom events
  • Communicate with the audience by introducing the event and performers

duties

  • Be in tune with the vision of The Café and be aware of relevant events and programs going on at The Café 
  • Attend and volunteer at Perform for Freedom events every Wednesday night, with some exceptions
  • Serve for a minimum of 3 months of volunteering
  • Attend volunteer team meetings on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 5pm-6:30pm
  • View the Not My Life Documentary and provide a 1 page response demonstrating an entry level knowledge of human trafficking

qualifications

  • Attentive and willing to listen to the wants/needs of performers at all times
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to create a friendly environment for volunteers and Café guests
